for August is Allison Pennington. She created a wonderful kit called My Own Backyard.

Here is the preview of the kit. It is one munga kit! As you know I am a big big fan of Allison's papers and this kit gives you plenty of those.



This is one of the layouts I did with the kit. I was so excited to find out today that this layout was chosen for the Finger Pointing post for August 1st at Gallery Standouts.com. How fun is that!


I love this picture of my son, Cullen. The angle is just so amazing and I love seeing his so giddy! Allison's kit had the perfect colors and elements to bring out this favorite picture. Sometime I hesitate to scrap favorite pictures or i scrap them over and over trying to get the perfect feel that honors the picture. This kit was perfection. I never have to scrap this picture again. :D

Yours Truly by Allison Pennington

Allison Pennington is one of most favorite digi scrapbook designers. Way back in March Allison invited me to Guess on her CT in July and Guess what? Its July and I have the honor of playing with her stuff. Her newest kit is called Yours Truly and is up in her store at CatScraps. I created the above layout with it. That is my son playing in the sprinkler on our front walkway.

This kit is loaded with an alpha, prompting word strips, elements, patterned and solid paper.

In honor of my month with Allison I have renovated my blog using her Daring Damask Vol 3 Paper Pack and a couple elements from her Yours Truly kit.

I created this layout with Sprintime and Sunshine by Meghan Mullens over at The Sweet Shoppe. I used a template by Cindy Schnieder. I love her templates. Templates can make creating so much easier but sometimes with Cindy's templates its takes forever because there are so many layers. They are not simple templates.

New Kits from the Digiridoo

I recently joined the Creative team at the Digiridoo Scraps site. I have been doing Quality Control for them for a few months now.

I have been quite a little scrapper these last few days with their new kits.

The Digiridoo is turning 2 years old this month so there is alot of celebrating going on over in the forums. The designers have created a new Mega kit called Two-riffic to celebrate their 2nd birthday. Thet have also created a new welcome kit for new members of the forum.

Next week there will be a huge blog train using their Sweet Surprise grab bag kit as inspiritation. You can grab clusters, cards, quick pages and more. So remember to check back at the forums on the 13th for information on where the train starts.

There are not many designers who can create in this fantastical way. But Eledhwen Designs seems to do it everytime. She is such a fantastic designer. This is an older kit by Kat's Creations. I love all the playground elements in it. I made a cute little playground scene at the bottom of the page. It was as fun as playing on the swings!

The font I used is called Becca and is by Victoria Feemster at Sugar Hill. I did put the white border around each letter.

It's a Girl's World by LDrag Designs

I did this really cute layout with a new kit by LDrag Designs.  It's called It's a Girls World.  It has the cutest elements and would appeal to both the grown up girls and the little ones who dream of all the fun we grown ups have. Little do they know...  I used some pictures of my daughter when she decided she could make herself gorgeous without any help.  She took any clip and bow she could find and put them in her hair.  And she put this dress on which I never liked. It was all orange, pink and rufflie.  She reminded me of a cross between Madonna in her early years and Cindy Lauper.

Coco Digiscrapteuse kits - Ray of Hope and Raphael

I have been playing around with a couple of Coco's older kits.  What fun I had!

The first kit is called Ray of Hope.  The colors are gorgeous and I made this cute little porch setting.  I just love the way it turned out.  You can see some more inspirational layouts at 123Digiscraps as well as plenty of other kits by Coco.

The second kit I used is called Raphael.  I made this wonderfully whimsical layout of my son. I just love the angle of this layout.  Its as if you are looking down from the sky at him.  Again, you can see this kit and others like it at 123Digiscrap.  Go on over and take a look.

Pictureless Layout - Spring

I created this layout today for a challenge at SugarHillco but realized later that the kit I used was misfiled. It is by one of my favorite digital scrapbook kit designers named Cinza Loosemoore.  She is actually over at OScrap. So I have moved this file to its rightful folder. And posted my layout here instead.

Been doing so much promo...

that I haven't had a chance to post on my own blog for my own pleasure but i have to share this.  It's so exciting.

I have been playing in PSP and I found a great way to finish off a layout.  I had heard about using a soft focus on a duplicate layer of your final page which lead me to this.

I duplicated my final layout
double clicked on the top layer to open the layer properties dialogue box
changed blend mode to SOFT LIGHT
Then within that same dialogue box I clicked on LAYER STYLES
click INNER GLOW and leave "layer" also chosen.
Click OK
Merge layers

Here is my before and after so you can see the difference in the layout.  I created this layout with inner Beauty by kat's Creations. The Preview for the kit is below.  You can find Kat's kits at Polka Dot Plum.

Isn't that just fabulous1  The layout comes alive.  I like this effect better than my usual Unsharp Mask.
